AI pattern generation
The AI tab turns plain language into a pattern, or changes the one you have, without you learning every parameter by hand. It’s a shortcut into the same pattern model the Pattern tab uses, not a separate system.
Generate or alter
Section titled “Generate or alter”Generate makes a complete new pattern from a description. Alter changes the current pattern from a description (“faster”, “warmer”, “more sparkle”) and leaves everything you didn’t mention alone. Reach for alter when you’re iterating and don’t want to lose your work; generate when you’re starting over.
Writing a prompt that lands
Section titled “Writing a prompt that lands”The model only emits patterns that fit the pattern model — engine, texture, the shape parameters, motion, and a palette of 8 or fewer colours — so whatever comes back is a normal pattern you can hand-tune afterward. Prompts work best when they name mood, colour, speed, and movement: “slow teal aurora with occasional white sparkle”, “aggressive red strobe chase”, “calm amber breathing, very gradual”. You can’t push it past the model. Ask for a 12-colour palette and you’ll get the closest thing it can actually build, not an error.
Scope: where the result lands
Section titled “Scope: where the result lands”You choose where it applies, using the same scope as manual edits. With All Elements in scope it lands on every element at once. With a single element (or a Multi selection) in scope it changes only those — useful for “make just the centrepiece wilder”. Pick scope deliberately: generating to All when you meant one element repaints the whole rig.
Check it before you keep it
Section titled “Check it before you keep it”Nothing applies blindly. The change shows as a diff against the current pattern, you can undo and redo through AI steps, and the live visualizer previews the proposed pattern so you can judge it first. Save it from Files like any other pattern once it’s right.
