Art-Net setup
Art-Net carries DMX universes over IP (UDP, port 6454). It’s a practical way to push a lot of pixels from a media server or console without running wired DMX, and on OmnaDMX it goes both ways, with input and output independent.
Receiving Art-Net
Section titled “Receiving Art-Net”Get the controller on the network first. Wired Ethernet on the S3-ETH is the reliable choice for show traffic; WiFi is fine for lighter loads. Then set the input source to Art-Net in the DMX tab and patch the device’s universe(s) to match your sender.
Art-Net addresses a universe as Net / Subnet / Universe — a 15-bit port-address. Match all three, not just the universe number. A frequent mistake is lining up “universe 1” while Net or Subnet differ, so nothing arrives. The device takes broadcast or unicast Art-Net; on a busy network, prefer unicast (the sender targets the device IP) so you’re not flooding every node.

Discovery (ArtPoll)
Section titled “Discovery (ArtPoll)”The device answers ArtPoll, so controllers that scan the network see it by its device name, with its input/output role and active universes. No manual node entry on pollers that support discovery. Give it a recognisable device name so it’s easy to pick out in a rig.
Sending Art-Net out
Section titled “Sending Art-Net out”Independently of the input source, set the output type to Art-Net (System tab) to stream the rendered pixels back out, for feeding other nodes, recording, or chaining devices. Per-strip destination IP and universe mapping live on the Strips tab. The UI flags two specific mistakes: a universe overlap, where two output strips share a universe range, and input/output feedback, where the same universe is used for both directions and loops.
